"Le Depart des bateaux" (Boats Leaving) by Claude Monet
I selected this artwork by Claude Monet for an example of balance as it is a great use of asymmetrical balance. Monet used many smaller images of boats in the water to help fill the negative space in this piece while also using these images to offset the large size of what appears to be huts in the center of the piece. This helps create the sense of balance even without the image being symmetrical.
